Awareness Session conducted by the IEEE Computer Society Chapter
The , University of Vavuniya, was successfully held on 02nd January 2025 . The session aimed to educate students on the importance of IEEE memberships, volunteering opportunities, and the benefits of engaging in technical communities.
The event commenced at 11.40 AM with a welcome speech delivered by Prabaharan Arwinth, Web Admin of the IEEE CS Chapter, University of Vavuniya. Arwinth warmly welcomed all the students and the organizing team, setting a positive tone for the session.
The main session was conducted by Thiwanka Lakshan, Vice Chair of the IEEE CS Chapter, University of Vavuniya. He shared valuable insights about IEEE CS, membership benefits, volunteering pathways, and opportunities available for students. His session inspired students to take part in future chapter activities.
The Vote of Thanks was presented by Mathuumitha Thevarajah, Secretary of the IEEE CS Chapter, University of Vavuniya. She extended her appreciation to the Chapter Advisor, Branch Counsellor, HOD, and Dean of the Faculty of Technological Studies for their continuous support. She also thanked the speaker, organizing team, and all participants.
A group photo session was held at the end of the program, capturing the participation of students and organizing members.
The Awareness Session ended on a positive and impactful note. The event successfully inspired students to explore IEEE CS membership and volunteer opportunities. The chapter is confident that this session will encourage greater student engagement in upcoming initiatives.
